We are still filling bins with parts for the M10/45 .22LR conversion unit.  So far we have made a couple of modifications to the conversion unit that will increase reliability.  We have included a bolt “stop” above the firing pin that keeps the hardened firing pin from hitting the hardened barrel after the last round is fired and ejected.  Another modification is the use of a “booster” to increase backpressure.  Since our design is “blowback only” the increase of backpressure by using the booster increases the reliability.  Our booster is disguised as a .22LR caliber suppressor but it can be removed from the actual barrel and an actual .22LR caliber suppressor installed, as long as the threads are standard ½ x 28 TPI.

The magazines are still 20 round steel magazines (Maryland compliant) patterened after the H&K 270. We are working on 40 round steel magazines as well.

We are in the process of having the parts of the units manufactured and are still on track to have them available in time for the SAR East show.  At the moment, we have not begun work on alternative grips to accommodate conversions but now that we believe to have all of the bugs worked out of the unit, we will begin design production of the various magazine well adapters.

As for the M11 conversion unit, many of the beta testing and design changes that were incorporated into the M10 unit also will be used for the M11 units.  Now that we have the M10 unit running reliably, we are moving closer to turning our sights on the M11 unit.

We are continuing the production of our beta test kits and we are anticipating the completion of the testing by the end of Febuary.  We hope to have the M10 kits available for sale the first part of March.  We also plan to have them avaliable for purchase at the SAR East show that will take place May 1-3, 2009.  For more info, click here.   We hope to see your there!

Okay, we are well into the New Year and we are now in fact manufacturing parts for the M10 .22 cal Conversion Kits.  We are in the process of tooling up and perfecting our programs to turn out the kits in lots of 25.  As is the nature of our business, our progress has been slightly delayed due to an influx of recent gun repairs.  The first 10 kits of this 25 unit run lot will go out to individuals that have been with us through the years – waiting for this moment. The first 10 will also be our beta-testers (we will hold the additional 15 kits to make sure our betas run smoothly.)  We need to make sure our mass produced units will run effectively and accurately for everyone.  By sending out the first 10 and then in lots of 25, we can control manufacturing kinks and glitches.  Basically, we want to make sure the products we are sending out will work and that you guys will feels as though you’ve spent your hard earned money wisely!
After the betas are tested and trued, we will start an official waiting list. WE WILL NOT TAKE DEPOSITS OF ANY KIND!  It is against our business model to use our customer’s money for our research and development for any of our products.  We respect each of you too much to hold on to your money for years with only the promise of a product.  We will not accept anyone’s money without a kit ready to be shipped to you.  When we are ready to begin a list, we will let everyone know. Until then, please be patient with us.

As far as the M11 kits are concerned, we hope to begin manufacturing them in late February.  Many of the parts are the same except for size.  That should give us enough time to get the first lot of M10 kits ready so that we can concentrate our efforts on mass producing the M11 kits.

ATF approval letter was sent to us. We will not provide the entire verbiage from the ATF letter because it contains proprietary information; however below is the important part:
“…To complete the present evaluation, FTB installed your kit into an open-bolt, “semi-auto” MAC-10 type firearm and test fired it. The kit did not defeat the semi-auto trip and did not cause automatic fire in the SEMI selector position. Therefore, we find that the submitted .22LR caliber conversion kit for MAC-10 type, open-bolt firearms is not regulated under the GCA or the NFA.”
This is great news for the entire MAC world!
